Where you'll sleep + eat at Elk Glade

Three ways to stay on a Colorado ranch.

The historic ranch lodge, the private cabin, and the bundled family camp week. Pick the one that fits the trip, then layer in horseback, fishing, cattle work, or a guided hunt.

The short answer

Three accommodation modes: the historic ranch lodge — a restored miner’s hotel that sleeps fifteen across five bedrooms — a private cabin (sleeps five), and the bundled Family & Group Camp 6-night week. Total ranch capacity is roughly twenty guests across the lodge + cabin. Three meals a day are included with hunt and cattle-drive packages and with multi-night ranch stays.

The lodge

The historic ranch lodge.

The Elk Glade lodge isn’t a custom-built guest house. It’s a restored miner’s hotel, more than 130 years old — five bedrooms with extra-long beds, a parlor with a player piano, and three ranch meals a day off the kitchen during guest weeks.

The dining hall holds thirty around the long table. The front porch hangs over the confluence of two trout streams — a pond below, a horseshoe pit in the yard, the south face of Pikes Peak over the shoulder. The kitchen runs through three meals a day during guest weeks.

We do not advertise the lodge as “rustic luxury.” The lodge is the lodge — wood and fire heat, solar-powered lights, two shower-and-toilet facilities, free Starlink at the ranch house, and an emergency radio that reaches Colorado’s largest medical-helicopter service. The same porch out over the water where guests sit at the end of the day.

Frequently asked.

What kinds of accommodations are at Elk Glade?

Elk Glade has three accommodation modes: rooms in the historic ranch lodge — a restored miner's hotel more than 130 years old — with single, double, and family-suite rooms, a separate private cabin sleeping five, and a bundled Family & Group Camp 6-night package.

How many guests can the lodge accommodate?

The ranch lodge sleeps fifteen comfortably across five bedrooms. With the private cabin add-on (sleeps five separately), the total ranch capacity reaches roughly twenty guests.

Are meals included in stays?

Three meals a day at the lodge are included with hunt and cattle-drive packages and with multi-night ranch-stay bookings. Stay-only guests can add a meal plan or eat a la carte.

When are stays available?

Lodge stays are available year-round for prebooked groups; April–November for general inquiry. Cabin same. The Family & Group Camp week runs primarily during fall hunting seasons (September–November) plus selected spring turkey windows.

Can I just book a lodge night without an activity?

Yes. Lodge rooms are available as straight overnight stays, two-night minimum on weekends. Most stay-only guests pair the room with one or two ranch activities (half-day horseback ride, guided fishing morning, cattle-drive day). Pure lodging is fine too.
